Hey Folks, (mamas especially), can you remember the feeling of being young, and by yourself with near limitless energy? ( i certainly remember and it feels like a lifetime ago).
of waking up excited, alert and being able to maintain that momentum throughout the day, without a mini version of you to think about getting ready for the day, what they will eat today, what activities to engage them in so they don’t end up watching TV for 10 hours of the day (That also happens!)
if you’re anything like me, somewhere along the line, you started slowing down, you started feeling groggy and listless, and your eyelids are now drooping in the afternoon because you’re waking up multiple times at night to make sure everyone is nice and warm while they sleep, and now to starve off fatigue, you’ve turned to coffee and energy drinks. ( I am very guilty of this)
To reclaim my energy, I am making a conscious effort to eat wholesome foods and as cliché as it sounds, I am doing some research in energy boosting foods and just adding beautiful colors to my meals AKA Vegetables. may I just add that it is helping as i now regularly get some bursts of energy here and there throughout my day.
I’ll encourage you to try eating wholesome foods and if there’s anything that helps you boost your energy other than caffeine and energy drinks, please share them here, I’m sure a lot of mamas like me are just trying to get their energy back.
Here’s to figuring out this thing called motherhood, adulthood or anything else you’re trying to figure out.
